<--- I love this picture! This is at our baby shower on May 17th, this past weekend. We had a blast and found out that we are having a ....BOY!!
Ray and I are thrilled, and even though we did not have a preference, we both were convinced this little one was a boy all along. Just intuition I guess...
We had a couples shower which I really liked because I have a lot of close friends and relatives who are guys and I could not imagine not having them there to share in this moment with us. We did Sesame Street as the theme because that it what Ray and I grew up with. My best friend Jackie hosted and did an outstanding job. There was so much great food and the cake was awesome!
The reveal was exciting and we did it as soon as all the guests had shown up. It consisted of a big box wrapped in Sesame Street paper and inside was gender specific balloons. Everyone gathered around as we pulled the big ribbon on top and viola! It was blue balloons for our baby boy.

And now on to the hospital visit or should I say 3 day stay...?
The day after the baby shower I had another bleed this one lasted a bit longer and the doctor decided to admit me and bubs for observation. I really was not expecting that and had a hard time being away from my pups and home for two nights.
Luckily, everything looked fine, even great, and I was able to check out. I was put on modified bed rest for now. I have not had anymore bleeding and the baby is active as always. The doctors assume it was due to a slight placental abruption. They will keep a close eye on me for the remainder of my pregnancy and have discussed what we will need to do if there are any other complications. I have been told that if I start labor now that they will not stop it and I will be delivering our little boy either naturally or via c-section if it becomes and emergency. His overall chance of survival outside my womb is 99 to 100% so I am fine with him making an early debut if needed.
Well it has been a pretty crazy week but things are calming down. Now to go through all of our shower presents and begin to seriously get ready for this little guy. He could be here anytime...
